The purpose
Still images will be created for different reasons or purposes. The creator of a still image usually thinks carefully about why the image is being constructed.
To determine the purpose of an image ask yourself the following questions:
- What is the image attempting to do?
- How is it attempting to do this?
- Has it achieved the purpose
Some words to describe purpose include:
sell, promote, persuade, entertain, advise, impress, argue, inform, explain, comment, report, debate, explore, present ideas and opinions, evoke.
